Biography

Dr. Georgia L. Thinakaran, serving as an Assistant Professor of Commerce at St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, brings a wealth of experience with fifteen years in the academic field. She possesses strong expertise in accountancy and commerce disciplines. She is a distinguished author with over 23 nationally and internationally recognized journal publications. She has an impressive academic background, as demonstrated by clearing the national-level eligibility test in 2011. Her expertise in rural development is highlighted by her Ph.D. research on MGNREGA, a rural job guarantee scheme in India. She has been recognized for her academic contributions, with more than five prestigious awards, including the Best Researcher Award, the Official Spotlight Award, and the Best Leader Award. Additionally, she has secured institutional research funding for projects focusing on transgender issues and one more fund from the Malcom Trust. She has authored numerous articles in her native language. She regularly shares her knowledge at various conferences as a resource person and provides tailored guidance in writing research proposals for funding agencies, particularly those supporting innovative social science research.
