Profile of the Department
BCOM HONOURS is a three-year, full-time undergraduate program. This prestigious, unique programme is affiliated to Bharathidasan University - a State Government University. The uniqueness of this programme is that its curriculum is embedded with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK) qualification. The BCOM HONOURS syllabus includes all subjects of ACCA. The ACCA, UK has given maximum paper exemption to the B.COM Honours department which is an exceptional recognition of its merit and achievement. After the successful completion of the requirements of this programme, a student will hold a state university approved BCOM HONOURS degree and an affiliate status from ACCA (Upon Clearing four professional papers of ACCA). St. Joseph's College has signed MOU with International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), UK as a learning partner to train the students for ACCA GLOBAL examination and also assisting in the placement of Honours students. This Honours programme equips the students with a strong base in Accounting, Analytics and Taxation besides imparting in-depth knowledge and skills in a host of other value adding subjects. In brief, with a state university approved honours degree from a well reputed College and a globally recognized ACCA certification, the honours graduate can seek a lucrative career practically in any relevant field, anywhere in the world.
